MPMsoft begins offering e-Prescribing (Launch,

Financial incentives for doctors to file prescriptions electronically went into effect January 1, 2009
but will start to decline after 2010, yet the majority of small practices haven’t implemented ePrescribing.
According to
CMS, each year Medicare patients experience as many as 530,000 adverse drug events due to negative interactions with other medication or lack of information about a patient's medical history. The e-prescribing initiative is predicted to save Medicare $156 million per year by avoiding adverse drug events.
MPM enables e-prescribing by offering an easy to implement monthly subscription
service within your MPM medical billing software. The cost is $99/mo per
doctor, and there is a setup fee of $600 per doc. The service is powered by
our EMR technology partner AMCIS, utilizing the national prescribing
clearinghouse SureScripts.
