This section addresses to topic of Defaulting to the new NPI Number in settings.

Found under the top navigation menu under: 'System' / 'Options'.

DEFAULTING TO THE NEW NPI FORM:
b) Under: 'System' / 'Options' select ‘The New NPI format’ option if you’re ready to move from the old HCFA-1500 form over to the NPI format. NOTE: When the NPI setting is selected ONLY NEW CMS-1500 FORMS can be used. ..But, you can toggle back and forth between the new 1500 form and the old 1500 form --and all your setting will be saved.
